What is a manifesto?

To run for a role, you'll need to produce an A4 manifesto, no more than 250 words, including the names of two students proposing and seconding your candidacy. These students must not be current members of the JCR committee.

Email this manifesto as a PDF to myself ([email protected]) and Toby ([email protected]). AND print out a paper copy and put it in my pidge (I. Taylor) at the plodge.

Dos and Don'ts

Do:

• Give it a shot! Being on the JCR is loads of fun, an interesting insight into the running of college and a chance to make positive change which helps students day to day life in Downing.
• Get your manifesto in by the dates above
• Come and speak to any current JCR officers for tips and advice

Do not:

• Miss this opportunity!
• Make any other written material besides your manifesto
• Send out, or allow others to send out, mass messages encouraging people to vote for you
• Use social media to promote your candidacy.

Finally, keep an eye on the Insta for more info over this week and come and speak to myself or anyone from the JCR with any questions.
